The castle is also known as the Starostynskyi castle. It is located in the Halych city (Ivano-Frankivsk region) and is the part of national reserve “Davniy Halych”. The castle was made of wood and first mentioned in 1114 as the fortified citadel. At the end of the 14th century to the 15th century, it was one of the biggest castles in Galicia. Nowadays, only the ruins of the wall and the defensive tower are left.
